A Safe Place for Every Teen Mother
TeenSafer is a specialised women’s and adolescent health centre dedicated to providing safe maternity care, reproductive health services, and advanced gynaecological treatment in Sierra Leone. We are committed to ensuring that teenage mothers receive dignified, safe, and compassionate care, while also providing advanced services to the wider community including laparoscopic surgery, infertility care, and gynecological treatment.
TeenSafer is also pioneering Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) outreach services, bringing lifesaving diagnostic services to remote and underserved communities across Sierra Leone.
TeenSafer was founded to address the urgent need for safe maternal healthcare for teenage mothers and women in underserved communities.
Teenage pregnancy remains a major public health challenge in Sierra Leone. Many young mothers face barriers to safe delivery services, reproductive health education, and long-term economic empowerment.
TeenSafer provides a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where teenage mothers can receive care, counselling, mentorship, and skills training to rebuild their future.
At the same time, the centre serves the wider population by offering advanced gynaecological services and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, making quality women’s healthcare accessible in the Northern Province.

Laparoscopic Surgery Centre
TeenSafer is establishing the first laparoscopic centre in Northern Sierra Leone, offering minimally invasive procedures that reduce pain, complications, and recovery time.
POCUS Outreach Services
TeenSafer operates a Point-of-Care Ultrasound outreach program that brings ultrasound diagnostics to remote rural communities.
Vocational Training for Teen Mothers
TeenSafer believes supporting teenage mothers goes beyond medical care. Our vocational training program helps young mothers rebuild their future by providing economic opportunities.
Training areas may include:
- Tailoring and fashion design
- Hairdressing
- Catering and food preparation
- Small business entrepreneurship
- Digital and ICT skills
TeenSafer has been established by Maternal Health Africa, a Scottish based charitable organisation.
